Mari's Biography

Hello,

Let me tell you a little bit about me:

I'm an author, a speaker, and a visual artist. I'm a mom, a mentor, and a former home educator.

For the past twenty years, I've been a non-fiction writer, published in books and periodical. The main focus of my writing has been on education and women's issues. Now, I am an emerging fiction writer. One more thing, I believe great writers inspire good writers to better writers. So I started the Write Ambitions Writers' Groups. We are all an excellent work in process. I am the recipient of a 2018 Literary Grant to complete my first historical fiction novel, due to be completed in July 2019.

Not only do I like to write, but I also enjoy speaking. I have been an invited speaker at both national and international conferences. Check out my speaker's page to get an idea of my workshop titles and topics.

My third passion is jewelry design. I have been a designer for the past five years. My jewelry has been exhibited across the South Eastern United States, and most recently at the prestigious Duke University Hospital as part of their Arts and Health program.
